If you know me, you know I've talked about becoming a foster parent and wanting to adopt since as long as I can remember. It's such an easy thing to tell people I want to do verse actually doing it. Clearly, I'm still in that process - but I took that first step.
I always told myself 'if I'm still single at 30 I'll start the paperwork to become a foster parent with and interest to adopt'. Well I'm 28 and I've already started that paperwork! I had been researching so much but found that all the questions I had were questions I could get the answers to while completing those next steps, or by experience.
So towards the end of May I decided that I felt it was the right time, I was spiritually where I wanted to be which allowed me to be emotionally open to the process. The first step was just submitting an interest - simple as that! No commitment, no plans I wasn't ready for, just admitting this is something I've been thinking about and being ready for a conversation on the phone!
